Who I support
You might feel that life is becoming difficult to manage - You might be experiencing conflict with family and friends or you are burnt out and stressed which leaves you tired and irritable all the time. A very prominent sign is internalization which is when you cannot share what going on with family or friends. However, you do not have to do this alone. At Spartan Counselling I can offer a space where you can be yourself without judgment. We will discover unique aspects about yourself then I will provide personalized evidence-based care to build up your capacity to lead a healthy life.
Individuals
Veteran to Veteran Care
As a war veteran who is also a psychotherapist, I can offer uniquely attuned care to fellow veterans by combining clinical competencies with lived military experience. My familiarity with military culture, deployment stressors, and the transition to civilian life can help build trust quickly and reduce the sense of isolation many veterans may feel in therapy. During treatment, I will maintain a trauma-informed, humanistic stance, using empathy, normalization of common post-deployment reactions, and evidence-based interventions while avoiding assumptions that every veteran’s story mirrors my own. By translating psychological concepts into culturally relevant language and respecting the values of service, loyalty, and resilience, I can help veterans process trauma, address moral injury, and strengthen coping in ways that feel credible.

War Veteran to First Responder Care

As a veteran who became a psychotherapist, I can bring a grounded, experience-informed presence to psychotherapy for first responders. Having personally lived within high-stakes environments in Afghanistan, I can genuinely understand the operational stress, hyper-vigilance, moral strain, and identity shifts that can parallel some aspects of emergency service work. This shared culture we have of service can help reduce stigma and build rapid rapport. As a first responder you may feel “this person gets it” without needing to over-explain things to me.
Feel free to reach out to book a free consultation. If you are a veteran and have any questions about resources or benefits, I can definitely support you.
